Seth speaks:
A leaf fell into Adam's milk.
We did not fish it out.
This was a poem that I heard in a dream the moment before I woke up one morning, and it is probably one of the things that I am most proud of writing, if it can be said to have been written. Seth is of course the son Adam and Eve had replace Abel after his murder. The second and third lines of the poem to me recapitulate the Bible, with the second line imaging the Fall of Humanity, and the third line, with its play on the fish as a symbol of Christianity, concerning the failure of Christ or his message to bring an end to the sufferings of a fallen world.
